POSITION SUMMARY
Foothills Christian Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Youth Ministry Director to lead and disciple students in grades 6–12. This individual will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of student ministry, helping students develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in biblical knowledge, and become active participants in the life and mission of the church.
The Youth Ministry Director will cultivate meaningful relationships with students and their families, recruit and equip volunteers, and create engaging opportunities for worship, discipleship, fellowship, outreach, and service.

The Youth Ministry Director will cultivate meaningful relationships with students and their families, recruit and equip volunteers, and create engaging opportunities for worship, discipleship, fellowship, outreach, and service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual Leadership and Discipleship
- Lead students toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through biblical teaching, mentoring, and discipleship.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for middle and high school students.
- Encourage students to discover and use their spiritual gifts in service to God and others.
- Foster a welcoming environment where students feel valued, connected, and encouraged in their faith journey.
- Help students develop habits of prayer, Bible study, worship, service, and evangelism.
- Intentionally prepare and encourage graduating seniors to transition into active involvement in the life of the church as young adults.
Program Development and Leadership
- Plan, organize, and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, small groups, and at minimum, one monthly special event.
- Develop age-appropriate and biblically grounded curriculum and teaching experiences.
- Create opportunities for students to worship, serve, and participate in the broader life of the church.
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
Teaching and Communication
- Prepare and deliver engaging, biblically sound lessons that connect Scripture to everyday life.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, volunteers, and church leadership regarding ministry activities and goals.
- Utilize social media, email, and other communication tools to effectively connect with families and students.
Student Care and Family Partnership
- Build strong relationships with students through regular interaction and involvement in their lives.
- Provide spiritual encouragement, guidance, and support to students and their families.
- Partner with parents as the primary spiritual influencers in their children’s lives.
- Be available to provide pastoral care and appropriate support during times of need.
- Plan and coordinate retreats, camps, mission trips, service projects, and outreach events.
- Encourage students to share their faith and engage with their community.
- Develop strategies for reaching unchurched students and connecting them with the ministry.
Volunteer Recruitment and Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support adult volunteers.
- Provide ongoing leadership development and discipleship opportunities for volunteer leaders.
- Ensure all volunteers comply with church safety policies, screening procedures, and child protection guidelines.
Technology and Media Skills
- Proficiency with common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
- Ability to use church management and communication platforms or willingness to learn.
- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging digital content for students and families.
- Ability to utilize technology for teaching, presentations, event registration, communication, and ministry organization.
- Basic graphic design, photography, video creation, or video editing skills are preferred but not required.
- Ability to troubleshoot common technology issues related to presentations, audiovisual equipment, and online communication tools.
- Familiarity with livestreaming, online meeting platforms, and digital discipleship resources is a plus.
Administration
- Manage the youth ministry budget responsibly and within approved guidelines.
- Maintain records, calendars, permissions, and ministry communications.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with church leadership to support the overall mission of the church.
This part-time position generally requires 10-12 hours per week and includes:
- Sunday morning participation and engagement with students and families.
- Wednesday evening youth meeting.
- Leadership of weekly youth programming.
- Attendance at staff meetings and ministry planning meetings as scheduled.
- Participation in retreats, camps, mission trips, outreach events, and special church activities.
- Regular communication and follow-up with students, parents, and volunteers throughout the week.
- Work hours will include evenings and weekends as required by ministry activities.

- Demonstrates Christian character, integrity, and spiritual maturity.
- A passion for discipling students and helping them grow in their faith.
- A commitment to living a lifestyle consistent with biblical Christian principles.
Education and Experience
- Experience in youth ministry, education, discipleship, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with and influence middle and high school students.
- Experience recruiting and leading volunteers is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and teaching skills.
- Ability to build relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a ministry team.
- Proficiency with social media, digital communication, and basic office technology.
- Ability to participate in youth activities, retreats, camps, and outdoor events.
- Ability to transport ministry supplies and equipment as needed.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Must comply with all Foothills Christian Church child protection and safety policies.
- Must provide references, including ministry, professional, and personal references.
$650.00 per month
