Building Strong Foundations Through God’s Word

The mission of the children’s ministry of Foothills Christian Church is to lead our children to a relationship with God through a nurturing environment where positive role models are present and the love of God is exhibited. It is our goal to foster the growth of our children in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord so they may be able to apply Biblical principles to their lives, enabling them to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
 
The children's ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade. A nursery for those under the age of 3 is available for all services. We have groups for preschoolers and elementary-age kids.  All volunteers receive training to teach our curriculum and must undergo a background check before ministering to our children.

Safety & Care

Biblical Teaching
  • We teach children Biblical truths in age-appropriate, meaningful ways that help them know God and understand His love for them.
  • Each lesson is grounded in Scripture and designed to help kids build a strong foundation of faith.

  • Our goal is to make church a place kids love to come, where learning about Jesus is fun, memorable, and life-giving.

Sundays

Small groups for preschool through fifth grade meet each Sunday at 10:00 am.
Our Children's Church is called KidZone. We meet from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM each Sunday. Kids become participants in the sermons. Each lesson element revolves around a central truth and a key Bible verse, so children hear the same message in a number of ways (games, puppet skits, songs, video clips). They race against puppets to say Bible verses, and Minute To Win It Games are a favorite! We also have KidZone Jr. Children's Church for kids age three through five.
A nursery is available from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.

Each week kids in first through fifth grades meet at 6:00 pm for dinner.  Then, from 6:30-7:30 pm, kids are immersed in learning stories from the Bible using interactive games, technology,  and activities designed to guide them from Genesis to Revelation.

Frequently asked questions for parents

What does check-in and pick-up look like?
Someone from the Greeting Team will walk you to the Children's Ministry Area. A volunteer will greet you and your child. You will complete a short information form for your child.
at the Check In Desk. A the conclusion of service, return to the Check In Desk to pick up your child. 
What if my child has special needs or allergies?
We ask that you provide specifics on the information form you complete at check in and talk with the volunteer.
How do you keep children safe?
Outside doors are locked at all times. A Ring Doorbell camera is used at the main entrance to the children's area. The outside door at the children's area is used only for parents dropping off children. Only background-checked volunteers and child attendees enter classrooms.
Is there anything I should know if I want to leave my child in the Nursery?
We ask for parents to complete an Information Card for their child. A volunteer will assist with checking your child in and placing a label on diaper bags. A Parent Brochure is available with information about the Nursery upon check in.
